This year's conference will explore the major trends and challenges that affect us NOW and those we are likely to encounter SOON. During the two days, we will hear from Paul Polman, business leader, campaigner and former CEO of Unilever, Dr. Christian Sahr, MD of Allianz Centre for Technology, Magnus Lindkvist, Trendspotter Extraordinaire as well as Sheryl Connelly, previously Chief Futurist at Ford Motor Company. Across both days, we will address the topics that are important for our clients. Bryan Reimer Ph.D from MIT Centre for Transportation & Logistics will discuss the challenges facing autonomous driving. Sven Smit, Senior Partner at McKinsey will give an overview of the mega trends in the world. And experts from Global Insurance at Google, Ayvens and others will cover a range of topics including developing mobility solutions, innovation in insurance, claims frequency, electrification of the vehicle parc and, of course, Artificial Intelligence.The Best of Belron Competition gathers the best technicians from our business to compete over two days for the title 'Best of Belron'. This will be our twelfth Best of Belron event. Around 30 competitors - one from each Belron business - will travel to Lisbon to participate. To qualify for the global competition, each technician will have already faced tough opposition to win their national country title. The competition will assess their skills and knowledge in various aspects of vehicle glass repair and replacement, such as customer service, safety, quality, and efficiency.The Best of Belron 2024 is more than just a Conference and a Competition. “Repair where possible, only replace when necessary.”This is a core value and promise we’ve held at Belron® for many years. But in current times it matters more than ever for our Business Partners and their customers.Where we can, we will always repair a damaged windscreen, rather than replace it. But it's not as easy as it sounds, because modern windscreens have more features that reduce the areas where we can repair, such as ADAS cameras, Head Up Displays and Augmented Reality. These windscreens are also more expensive to replace. And so, our dedication to repair, whenever possible, is essential to our service standards. And did you know that a windscreen repair produces 80%(!) less CO2 emissions than a replacement? Another important reason for us to keep focussing on repair and support our Business Partners in reaching their cost and emission objectives. To achieve the highest repair rate, our trained technicians use modern methods and high-quality materials to deal with damage, restoring the strength of the glass and helping drivers to get back on the road quickly.

I’m extremely proud of our 35 Belron Commercial Leaders who met in Rome in the last days for our Sales Conference. It was a great opportunity to talk about the future trends in the automotive, insurance, and fleet industries. Following that we discussed how to adjust our business to keep offering the best service to our clients and their customers in the future. Belron marks International Women’s Day with Women Technicians at the Best Of Belron Event!We’re delighted to share a historic achievement for Belron: For the first time ever, we have (at least) three amazing women technicians taking part in the Best Of Belron event, which will happen in Lisbon on June 12-13.Kgomotso from South Africa, Emma from Finland and Marine from France will be contesting along with 27 other technicians from around the world for the Best Of Belron title.We are thrilled and thankful to see so many women now entering our organisation as technician, and of course other functions. Belron is proud that Rivian has trusted Safelite to work with them. With technology on newly introduced cars continuously increasing, more cameras and sensors behind the windscreen are connected with other systems of the car. Keeping up with this technology is more important than ever to keep our customers on the road safely. Safelite and Belron are keen to work closely with new and existing car manufacturers to understand the technology and being able to serve customers from Insurance, Lease and Fleet companies. By the way, this picture was taken in front of our new Safelite Branch in Columbus, Ohio, which is currently being built.
